By organic gardening I mean gardening without using synthethic commercial fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides. To grow plants and crops in particular, there will be a need to use some forms of natural fertilizers, pesticides, or fungicides,
The key to plant growth is in the soil in particular. By effectively improving the garden soil’s structure then the plant and all the associated activities of soil life in general will benefit. The right combination of moisture and air with a healthy soil structure will allow for the free movement of nutrients and bacteria. The breakdown and transport of these elements will allow good strong growth of the plant and greater resistance to any disease and/or pest that might otherwise attack a weaker plant.
Make good use of not only the organic waste from your garden (grass clippings, waste clippings etc) but also from the kitchen (uncooked food, kitchen towels etc). Use these materials to make a compost that when properly decomposed can be added to the garden to improve fertility.
